Back To The Table
Bringing Families Back to the Table
In many of our communities, families face daily challenges that make shared, nourishing meals feel out of reach. Back to the Table was created to bridge that gap, offering a space where families can come together, build lasting habits, and strengthen their bonds. By combining culinary education with wellness-focused guidance, the program fosters meaningful connections, encourages healthy routines, and empowers families to take charge of their mealtime experiences with confidence and joy.
Culinary Innovation
Back to the Table is an innovative culinary and wellness program designed to strengthen families in underserved Indianapolis neighborhoods, particularly those impacted by food deserts, rising grocery costs, and inconsistent mealtime routines.

Led by licensed culinary educator Carol Lawson, this program equips families with:
-
Hands-on cooking instruction
-
Budget-friendly meal planning tools
-
Cultural food education
-
Guided conversation prompts to foster connection
-
Take-home groceries to recreate meals together

More than just a cooking class, Back to the Table transforms mealtime into an opportunity for connection, stability, and emotional wellness. Families leave with practical skills and renewed confidence in the kitchen and in each other.
